Changing the Lives of the Next Generation

At Harms and Humans, we believe that everyone deserves a healthy home — no matter their income or background. Unfortunately, many families are exposed to heavy metals but can’t afford to get their homes tested. That’s why we have launched our Charity Program, which offers free testing for homes, daycares, and playgrounds.

What you can do

There are a few ways you can support this important work:

• Help a Child Grow Smarter and Stronger. Your contribution helps cover the cost of testing and reporting for families in need.
• Sponsor a Playground or Daycare: Help us test a public space or daycare in your community.
• Share Information: Spread the word so more families can access help and more supporters can join the cause.
• Fundraise with Us: Run a campaign, host an event, or dedicate your birthday.
• Volunteer Skills: Are you a public health worker, social worker, marketing professional, influencer, business owner, or just passionate to help? Contact us. Your skills can change lives.

Special Campaign: Safe Playgrounds in Ottawa

We are currently raising funds to inspect public playgrounds across Ottawa for lead, cadmium, and other toxic metals. Children often hold swings, bars, and playground equipment — then put their fingers in their mouths. If these surfaces are contaminated, the risk of exposure becomes high.

Your donation helps us test these areas and advocate for clean, safe places for children to play.
